During this
year Puerto Rico will be celebrating the Central American and
Caribbean Games in the city of Mayagüez, Puerto Rico.
As a
part of the celebration of these games, the Triathlon event will be
celebrated in Rincón.
The Trialo
Rincoeño Inc. is planning this event in conjunction with the Olympic
Committee, the Federal Triathlon, and the Local Council of Rincón to
invite all the Triathletes that will represent their country in the
Central American and Caribbean Games during July 2010 to
participate in the XXX Edition Triathlon of Rincón.
The
Triathlon will consist of two events, the Triathlon Cup and the
Sprint.
The Olympic
Cup event will be a training exercise and practice as a precursor to
the Central American and Caribbean Games 2010. The scenery of these
games will be the same ones used in the Triathlon of the Central
American Games.
The technical
committee of Mayagüez 2010 says that this is the best date for the
athletes to be familiarized with the Central American Games route.
Rincón will be very pleased to receive the visit and
participation from its Triathletes in this XXX Edition of the
Triathlon of Rincón.
Information per event
I. Olympic Cup Event:
This event includes the following categories: Over
All, Sub-23, and Juvenile. The same will be for branches, men and
women.

Event date: Sunday, June 6th, 2010
·
Category of 24 years and older
Men’s swimming event will commence at
6:30am and the women’s swimming event will commence at 6:35am.
Prizes Over All:
1ST PLACE -
$800.00 4TH PLACE - $200.00
2ND PLACE -
$600.00 5TH PLACE - $100.00
3RD PLACE - $400.00

Categories: Sub -23 and Juvenile (16-19 years)

The Swimming Event for both, men and women will
commence at - 6:35am.
o
Prizes for both categories (men and women):
1ST PLACE - $200.00
2ND PLACE - $100.00
3RD PLACE – $50.00
·
The Swimming Event for the Olympic Cup will begin at
6:10am.
·
The time limit to finish the Olympic Event will
consist of 2 hours and 30 minutes. Failure to complete the event in
the allotted will result in disqualification.
II. SPRINT EVENT
This event has the age category and relay for both,
men and women.
·
Event Date: Sunday, June 6th, 2010
·
Participants must be 13 or older to be able to
compete in this event..
·
Men’s start time begin at
9:00am
·
Women’s start time and Relay begin at
9:05am.
·
The call for the commencement of the Sprint Swimming
Event will be scheduled at 8:40am.

Relay Event will not featuring any metallic prizes.
Important Details
for the Event:

Inscription Cost per Category

International Olympic Cup Event-$150.00 p/p
This
expense covers 2 nights and 3 days at a hotel for the first 30
foreign athletes for the countries
participating in the Central American and Caribbean Games that have
been inscribed.
The
offer for the three day stay in the hotel is valid until the 30
spots for the athletes are filled.
·
National Olympic Cup - $100.00 p/p
Doesn’t cover the
stay in the hotel and in this national event, one will compete
against foreign athletes. This is not a different category.
·
Sprint Event - $45.00 p/p
·
Relay Event - $35.00 p/p

Due
to the logistics of the event, there will be no inscription for any
athlete on the day of the event.
·
Any
person that is not an athlete will not be allowed in the transition
area the day of the event.
·
For
the professional athletes, transportation will be provided from the
San Juan International Airport to the Rincón Hotel.
·
In
order to receive this transportation it is required that you inform
us the number of your flight and the time of your arrival to the San
Juan International Airport Luis Muñoz Marín or the Aguadilla
Airport. Also, remember to tell us the time of your arrival to
Puerto Rico on or before May 21st, 2010. After this date
we will indicate the time we will pick you up at the airport.
